A. H. Scott Scotland Lion Crown B & S A Special Warranted Hand Forged In Scotland Mashie
This antique hand-forged golf iron features a steel head with a line-scored face. The back of the clubhead displays several distinct stamped marks, including a circular maker mark for A.H. Scott of Elie, Scotland, a crest depicting a lion rampant above a crown, and a triangular mark containing the characters B&S over A. Additional text stamps on the head read WARRANTED HAND FORGED IN SCOTLAND and SPECIAL. The head is constructed with a long hosel joined to a tapered hickory wood shaft. The club is topped with a dark, spirally wrapped leather grip that is finished with black whipping at the base.
The club shows characteristics of age and historical use, including a dark patina and scattered surface wear. The hickory shaft is intact with minor surface abrasions. The leather grip shows wear consistent with age, and the whipping remains secure.
