Arnold Palmer looked to follow up his Masters title with a win at Congressional at the 1964 US Open. He led after the first round, but ultimately Ken Venturi would claim his career-defining Major, besting Tommy Jacobs by 4 strokes. Offered here is the cover to the June 15, 1964 issue of Sports Illustrated. Palmer is depicted on the cover, and left a nice bold signature in black marker.
