Here we have a true piece of Augusta National and Masters history. This is a full unissued share of stock from Augusta National. A few copies of the 1932 and 1941 issuance of shares have surfaced on eBay, but they are just cheap copies. This is an actual (#85) original share which is hand signed by Club Secretary and founding member Fielding Wallace. Mr.Fielding Wallace(D-1954)was President of Bon Aire CC 1921-35(now Augusta CC),and was also the President of the USGA in 1948 and 49. This Share is still attached to the receipt portion representing that it was removed from the original stock share book which was instituted in 1932. This offering comprised of the initial membership drive which began in '32. Measurements on this very seldom seen document are 9x16 including the receipt or 9x11.5 for just the share of stock. Paper is watermarked Strathmore PA and comes from Foots & Davies out of Atlanta Ga. Share is number 85 and pictures a group of Ladies teeing off in the picture at the top of the certificate. Now isn't that ironic the Institution that has come under so much fire for not allowing women members, had women golfers on their stock! Amazing piece of history that would look perfect framed in the house, talk about a conversation piece. This auction lot comes with a coa from JSA authentication.
