A first edition of this privately printed volume regarding the San Francisco Golf Club and the architectural legacy of the Golden Age of golf course design. The work is bound in the publisher's green and black tartan cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and front board, housed in a matching dark green cloth-covered slipcase with a printed paper label. Dedicated to the members of the San Francisco Golf Club, the book contains numerous illustrations and maps. The frontispiece is by Andrew Berry, with golf hole drawings by Christopher Monti and Andrew Berry. The front endpapers feature a map by Christopher Monti based on Alister MacKenzie, and the rear endpapers contain a golf course map by Darryl T. Roberson and Christopher Monti. The interior pages reproduce detailed architectural drawings and notes for a hypothetical or reconstructed course at Cayuga Lake, Ithaca, New York, dated March 22, 1933, featuring the collaborative designs of Alister MacKenzie, A.W. Tillinghast, and Donald Ross.
