Bob Rosburg with a brilliant final round of 66 claimed the 1959 PGA Championship over a crowded field of challengers that included Hall of Famers Dow Finsterwald, Ken Venturi, Cary Middlecoff and Sam Snead all within five strokes of the final winning score of 277. Rosburg's major triumph was claimed at the Minneapolis Golf Club which played extremely tough that day with winds reaching 21 miles per hour. With this very Wilson Sandy Andy wedge, Rosburg would complete his finest accomplishment on the course while a Wilson Staff member. Rosburg's alterations to his exact championship caliber specifications would include the lead tape addition to the back of the head to add weight, as well as showing heavy welcomed usage on the leading edge as well as traveling through the face showing heavy usage by Rosburg and not just the crown jewel of his golfing resume.
