Clifford Roberts Signed 1975 Masters Tournament Wednesday Ticket #4681
Clifford was the co-founder with Bobby Jones of Augusta National G.C. Roberts served as Chairman of the club from 1931 through 1976, and was named "Chairman in Memoriam" after his death. Not only was he the chairman of Augusta National, but he also served as Chairman of the Masters Tournament from 1934 through 1976. In 1977, after being quite ill for many months, Clifford perished on the banks of Ike's Pond by his own hand denying his terminal cancer the opportunity to conclude its cruel work. A seldom seen, highly desired autograph from the man who through his vision developed a small Georgia gathering of golfers into one of the most famous sporting events in the world. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this autograph, and their certification of authenticity will come with this lot. Item comes housed in a sturdy acrylic case which can be easily removed if the winning bidder desires.
