David Eger's 1997 10K Hugh Wilson Invitational Gold Medal


The Hugh Wilson Invitational began in 1978, and today it ranks as one of the finest amateur events held in the United States. The event is named for Wilson, a Scottish immigrant, who designed both the east and west courses at Merion Golf Club located just outside of Philadelphia.The 2" diameter medal which David Eger won in 1997 as the Champion amateur golfer at Merion's Wilson Invitational features the courses famous whicker basket on it's intricately designed front side. It is here the inscription is found:
