E. Fairlie’s R. Forgan & Sons St. Andrews Patent Iron 3676

This antique smooth-face iron was manufactured by Robert Forgan and Son of St Andrews, Scotland. The club features a forged metal head with a distinctive offset hosel design. The back of the club head bears several stamped markings, including a Prince of Wales feathers crest, the arched text R. FORGAN and SON over ST ANDREWS, and the designation E. FAIRLIE'S over PATENT. A numeric stamp 8676 is located on the hosel. The club is constructed with a tapered hickory wood shaft and a leather-wrapped grip secured with cord whipping. The club shows signs of age and use. The hickory shaft exhibits typical minor surface wear. The leather grip is aged, dry, and worn, with some fraying to the cord whipping, though it remains intact. 39 1/2"
