Jas. B. Halley Warranted Hand Forged Putter London 38 Special Putter
This lot features an antique blade-style putter manufactured by James B. Halley and Co. of London. The clubhead is constructed of hand-forged metal and features several stamped markings on the reverse. The maker trademark, consisting of an H positioned above a pair of crossed golf clubs, is located at the top center. Additional stamps include WARRANTED HAND FORGED at the top right, JAS. B. HALLEY and CO / LONDON in the center, and Special PUTTER at the lower left. The number 38 is stamped on the toe. The club face is decorated with a dash and line-and-dash pattern designed for friction. The item is fitted with a tapered wooden shaft, likely hickory, and retains a leather wrap grip. The grip is secured at the top and bottom with black cord whipping.
The club shows signs of age-appropriate wear throughout. The wooden shaft displays a rich, aged color with light surface abrasions. The leather grip remains intact with expected signs of wear and handling consistent with a vintage piece of equipment.
