Multi-Signed 2006 Great Sports Legends Dinner Commemorative Framed Program
This is a multi-signed commemorative framed program from the Twenty-First Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner, held on September 19, 2006, at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. The event was a fundraising gala for The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. The panoramic display features the formal invitation text, a list of honorees, and individual portrait panels for each of the year's Sports Legends and award recipients. The piece is hand-signed in black marker by twelve individuals. Signatories include Lance Armstrong (Cycling), Patrick Ewing (Basketball), Emmitt Smith (Football), Wade Boggs (Baseball), Dean Smith (College Basketball Coach), Tony Hawk (Skateboarding), John Vanbiesbrouck (Hockey), Michael Chang (Tennis), Beverly Kearney (Track and Field Coach), General H. Norman Schwarzkopf (Great American Icon Award), Ray Chambers (on behalf of The Chambers Family, Outstanding Business Leader Award), and Tom Brokaw (Master of Ceremonies). The program is housed in a long black wooden frame with a custom white mat. The reverse side of the frame contains a detailed printed list of the dinner committees, leadership, and board of directors for The Buoniconti Fund.
