Original Lee Trevino w/ Claret Jug Oil Painting Signed by Artist Robert Fletcher - Framed
Robert Fletcher's captivating composition depicts a smiling Lee Trevino wearing his white patch cap, posing with the Claret jug after winning the 1972 Open Championship. The work is executed in a predominantly monochromatic warm palette of sienna and ochre tones set against a muted blue-grey background characteristic to Fletcher's revered style. Fletcher explored expressive and loose brushwork, with paint applications ranging from thin, translucent washes to more opaque layers. The painting is housed in a modern stepped black frame with a gilded inner fillet. The verso is sealed with brown craft paper and fitted with D-ring hangers and a wire.
Renown golf industry artist Robert Fletcher has dedicated nearly 40 years to refining his craft in the fine arts. His works are exhibited on the historic grounds of Cherry Hills and Colorado Golf Club in bronze busts, prior to participating as a lead artist in a recent Golf Heritage Society Meeting art workshop. His most recent success was work that was used as a tribute to the course architect team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw at the Colorado Golf Club. Robert has a unique style, with a mix of realism and and shadowing resulting in an almost a mythic result.
