Tom Stewart St Andrews Special Hand Forged Niblick Hickory Shaft Golf Club
This early 20thcentury niblick golf club was manufactured by master clubmaker Tom Stewart in St Andrews Scotland. The club features a hand forged iron head mounted on a tapered hickory wood shaft. The back of the head is stamped with several identifying marks including SPECIAL HAND FORGED and MADE IN SCOTLAND. A central oval maker mark reads T. STEWART MAKER ST ANDREWS. Below this oval is Stewart39s registered cleek mark which depicts a tobacco pipe followed by the text T.S. ST. A REG TRADE MARK. The toe of the club is stamped NIBLICK and a small number 8 is stamped on the sole toe area. The striking face features horizontal line scoring. The hickory shaft is fitted with an antique leather wrapped grip that is secured with a pin at the top. 35 1/2"
