Two Augusta Chronicle Masters Victory Special Sections Tiger Woods 1997 and Phil Mickelson 2004
Two original commemorative newspaper special sections published by The Augusta Chronicle documenting landmark victories at The Masters Tournament. The first section, dated April 14, 1997, is titled Masters 1997 Special Section and features the headline Historic Woods launches new era to celebrate Tiger Woods first major championship win. It includes a large color photograph of Woods pumping his fist and a sidebar detailing his record-breaking performance titled Tiger rolls. The second section, dated April 12, 2004, is titled Masters 2004 and features the headline FINALLY PHIL with the sub-headline Birdie at 18 earns his major. The cover depicts Phil Mickelson iconic celebratory leap on the 18th green after securing his first career major title. Both sections were published in Augusta, Georgia, the home of the tournament.
