Two Sam Snead Signed Personal Checks Including One to Billy Casper and One PSA DNA Mint 9
Here is a lot of two (2) original personal checks handwritten and signed by legendary World Golf Hall of Fame member Sam Snead. Both checks are drawn from the Bank of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
The first check, number 832, is dated April 12, 1975. It is made out to Mrs. Paul Hayes in the amount of $200.00. A handwritten memo on the lower left reads loan for Masters Tournament. The check is signed in bold black ink as Samuel J. Snead. This item has been professionally authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. The label identifies it as a PSA/DNA Certified check with an Auto Grade of MINT 9 (Certificate Number 83511610). The reverse of the check is endorsed by the payee and contains various bank processing stamps. The second check, number 092, is dated April 11, 1983. It is made out to fellow Hall of Fame golfer Billy Casper in the amount of $42.85. The check is signed in blue ink as Samuel J. Snead. The reverse side features a restrictive endorsement stamp for Billy Casper Enterprises, Inc. and multiple bank processing stamps, including a PAID date of April 21, 1983. James Spence Authentication has reviewed this signature and a JSA ALOA will accompany this lot.
