Walter Hagen 1928 Long Beach Open International Newsreel Type I Original News Service Photograph PSA Authentic
Type I original news service photograph featuring legendary golfer Walter Hagen at the 1928 Long Beach Open. The black and white image depicts Hagen in his follow-through after a drive, dressed in period-accurate golf attire including a sweater and knickers. The photograph is authenticated and encapsulated by PSA as Type I, signifying a first-generation print made from the original negative within approximately two years of the event. The front of the PSA holder contains a label reading ORIGINAL NEWS SERVICE PHOTO WALTER HAGEN INTERNATIONAL NEWSREEL LONG BEACH OPEN TYPE I AUTHENTIC 1928 85465426. The reverse of the holder features a PSA label with a QR code, barcode, and the number 85465426. The back of the photograph itself contains multiple archival marks. WALTER HAGEN is written in pencil near the center. Affixed to the bottom is a typewritten caption strip which reads (SLUG) WALTER HAGEN LONG BEACH, CALIF. --- WALTER HAGEN gets away a beautiful, long drive off the 8th tee of his final round in the Long Beach Open, which he won recently.
